This article aims to learn about the history of the school subject Biology in the Brazilian context. This research is a systematic review of articles and is qualitative. In this investigation, a time frame was established from 2009 to 2023, and 10 articles from the Portal of Journals of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) were analyzed. The research results show that this subject's history encompasses changes and stable moments, from the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, when it consisted of some Biology content, such as Zoology and Botany, and was called Natural History. A História das Disciplinas Escolares é uma área de estudo que possibilita compreender como os conteúdos se tornaram saberes escolares. Desse modo, neste artigo, objetivou-se saber sobre a história da disciplina escolar Biologia no contexto brasileiro. A presente pesquisa é uma revisão sistemática de artigos, direcionada pelo caráter qualitativo. Nesta investigação, foi estabelecido o recorte temporal a partir do ano de 2009 a 2023, sendo analisados 10 artigos advindos do Portal de Periódicos da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes). Os resultados da pesquisa demonstram que a história dessa disciplina abrange mudanças e momentos estáveis, como no século XIX até o início do XX, de modo que se constituía por alguns conteúdos da Biologia, como a Zoologia e a Botânica, e era chamada História Natural.
