For this initiative, an extension team was formed, consisting of university professors and students from the Bachelor's degree program in Environmental Sciences. The extension project addressed various Environmental Education strategies aimed at highlighting the environmental contributions of peatlands. Through dialogue and collaboration between UNTDF researchers, extension teams, and the local community, collaborative work experiences have been promoted, which not only generate new knowledge but also increase the community's interest and commitment to these institutional projects. En este trabajo, presentamos una experiencia de extensión universitaria llevada a cabo en la Universidad Nacional de Tierra del Fuego Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur (UNTDF) durante el año 2022. Para esta iniciativa, se conformó un equipo extensionista integrado por docentes de la universidad y estudiantes de la carrera de Licenciatura en Ciencias Ambientales. A partir del proyecto de extensión se abordaron diversas estrategias de Educación Ambiental con el fin de poner en valor las contribuciones ambientales de las turberas. A través del diálogo y la articulación entre docentes investigadores de la UNTDF, equipos extensionistas y comunidad local, se han fomentado experiencias de trabajo colaborativo que no solo generan nuevos conocimientos, sino que también aumentan el interés y compromiso de la comunidad hacia estos proyectos institucionales.
