There is a wide variation in the date. Information about the organization and difusion of the national olympiads in each counlry is also given. Este trabajo da a conocer aspectos sobre la modalidad de enseñar Biología en otros países. Los datos fueron recabados a partir de la Olimpíada Internacional de Biología. Los aspectos analizados: cantidad de años que se enseña Biología en relación con el periodo total de educación escolar, número de clases semanales en elúltimo año, duración de las mismas y cantidad de alumnos por clase. Se observó gran disparidad en la mayoría de estos aspectos. Se brinda información sobre la forma de organizar y peomover la olimpíada nacional en cada país.
