Teacher training Formación docente Brazilian secondary education is in a critical situation, out of step with the industrial development and technological modernization that the country is undergoing. The lack of working conditions, the lack of courses in schools, the lack of recognition and encouragement for the work of teaching mean that the teacher is far from being an updated professional, and that the student is a bored learner in the instructional processes. In this context, this program (among other objectives) seeks to update the teacher in the content of the Biology program, giving him/her practical instruments to motivate the understanding of concepts in an integrated and compatible way with the reality and intellectual level of the student. La enseñanza secundaria brasileña se encuentra en situación crítica, desfasada en relación al desarrollo industrial y a la modernización tecnológica que atraviesa el país. La falta de condiciones de trabajo, de re cursos en las escuelas, de reconocimiento y estímulo a la labor de enseñar hacen que el profesor esté lejos de ser un profesional actualizado, y que el alumno sea un aprendiz aburrido en los procesos de instrucción. En tal contexto, este programa (entre otros objetivos) busca actualizar al profesor en el contenido del programa de la asignatura Biología, dándole instrumentos de manera práctica para motivar la comprensión de conceptos de forma integrada y compatible con la realidad y nivel intelectual del alumno.
