In this work, the concentration of THM indoors in San Juan´s city, is determined using gas chromatography. The samples analyzed were from different locations of the network of water distribution and one indoor swimming pool. High values for the concentration of these compounds were found. El proceso de potabilización del agua forma parte de los contenidos básicos de Ciencias Naturales en EGB 3 (Diseño Curricular EGB 3-1998 – Ministerio de Educación-Prov, San Juan) y cobre importancia debido a que como consecuencia de la elaboración, se forman subproductos cancerígenos. El cloro elimina o inactiva los organismos patógenos, sin embargo en 1970 se descubrió que su aplicación implica un riesgo para la salud debido a la formación de trihalometanos (THM). En este trabajo se determinó la concentración de THM en ambientes cerrados de la ciudad de San Juan usando cromatografía gaseosa. Las muestras analizadas comprenden distintos puntos de la red de agua potable y una pileta climatizada y se encontraron valores elevados para la concentración de dichos compuestos.
