For this purpose, a theoretical class in the framework of an introductory genetics course was analyzed and, in addition, a semi-structured interview was conducted with the teacher in charge. In this way, it was possible to identify a series of elements that vary between its classic biomedical approach and a proposal that incorporates a gender and rights perspective. We argue, in turn, that epistemological reflection on this scientific model can contribute to move away from biological determinism in its teaching. El trabajo de investigación que presentamos trata de dar respuesta a la pregunta de cuáles son las concepciones respecto a la intersexualidad y al sexo biológico que se transmiten en la enseñanza universitaria, al tratar la determinación del sexo como contenido curricular de la Biología. Para esto, se analizó una clase teórica en el marco de un curso introductorio de genética y, además, se realizó una entrevista semiestructurada al docente a cargo. De esta manera, fue posible identificar una serie de elementos que varían entre su abordaje biomédico clásico y una propuesta que incorpore una perspectiva de género y derechos.
