Sumario:Education in nature presupposes teaching and learning from physical contact with natural environments. Thus, the act of educating occurs through the experience of first contact, considered both motivating and guiding of the educational process. This article presents three remarkable didactic trends in nature education, namely: the study of nature, conservationist education and experiential education. Characteristics and aspects that distinguish each of them are presented, composing a panorama that helps us to reflect on their potential in the school context.
