Sumario:This analysis of the representations that University students (18-22 years old) explain and support about the knowledge of Biology and their ways of production in a first year subject of a university course of studies of Licenciate in Sciences is presented in this paper. Changes made in their interpretations are triggered by teaching activities that promote the constructions of comprehension and argumentation showing important differences in learning regarding the knowledge of sciences and Biology are also evaluated in this paper. The work was done with a pre and post test design, using as indicators the different textual, discursive and metacognitive productions of the students (drawings, sketches, graphics and arguments). A qualitative and quantitative analysis of the answers along the teaching of a four-month period was carried out.
