Through analysis, we find characteristicsproposed by the NRC, The investigation activity gave advances in the understanding of moststudents regarding the disposition and function of cells of epithelial tissue useful diagnostic considerationsand possible structural cognitive minority not provided adequate transfer meanings. O presente artigo apresenta as contribuições de uma atividade investigativa para o Ensinode Ciências relacionada ao conteúdo “tecido”. A pesquisa foi realizada com alunos do oitavo anodo Ensino Fundamental, com intuito de investigar se os conhecimentos adquiridos pelos alunosem uma determinada situação de ensino poderiam ser transferidos para outras situações. Pormeio da análise, percebemos características propostas pelo NRC, a atividade investigativa proporcionouavanços na compreensão da maioria dos estudantes no que se refere à disposição dascélulas e função do tecido epitelial e possibilitou úteis considerações diagnósticas das estruturascognitivas da minoria que não apresentou adequada transferência de significados.
