With this proposal we attempt to assess the understanding of Biology study field from the perspective of scientific knowledge praxis and the dilemmas faced by the professional profile of biologists in their work environment. We describe some arguments which validate the importance of including the analysis of the nature of scientific knowledge for the formation of science students.  Moreover, we justify the thematic axes and didactic activities developed  during the course, offering some reflections, explanations and responses from the main actors (both teachers and students) and analyzing the cognitive and conceptual value of the proposed didactic path. En este trabajo se comparte una propuesta didáctica para una asignatura introductoria de la carrera Licenciatura en Ciencias Biológicas, por la cual se pretende abordar la comprensión del campo temático de la Biología desde la perspectiva de la praxis del conocimiento científico y de los dilemas que atraviesan el perfil profesional del Biólogo en su ámbito laboral. Se describen algunos argumentos que validan la importancia de incluir el análisis sobre la naturaleza del conocimiento científico para la comprensión y formación de alumnos de ciencias. Se justifican los ejes temáticos y las actividades didácticas propuestas en dicho espacio curricular, ofreciendo algunas reflexiones, argumentos y respuestas de sus protagonistas (estudiantes y docentes), y analizando el valor cognitivo y conceptual del recorrido didáctico propuesto.
