This article comments on Isabel Braga´s book: “Mouriscos ecristaos no Portugal quinhentista, duas culturas e duas concepçoesreligiosas em choque”, which depicts an important profile of theMoorish population based on the documentation of the Inquisition.The historical narrative of the author is also analyzed as a record ofthe reason of the relative historiographic silence on the Portuguese-Jewish, Portuguese-Islamic and Portuguese-African commnunities.
