Within the experimental practices that took place in the second half of the century, especially from the 1960s onwards, Argentinian artists added resources and procedures that went from joining word and image to incorporating objects, actions, sounds, videos and the use of new digital technologies. On the other hand, studies record the origin of sound art as a recent fact. In this investigation, both practices are related and the incorporation of sound in visual poetry is taken as an antecedent of sound art, being part of a hybridization process typical of contemporary art, which includes both. Considerando la complejidad del arte del siglo XX, el comienzo de este trabajo ha sido estudiar los cruces de lenguajes en el campo de las artes visuales en Argentina, especialmente el desarrollo de la poesía visual y sus transformaciones. Dentro de las prácticas experimentales que tuvieron lugar en la segunda mitad del siglo, especialmente a partir de la década de 1960, los artistas argentinos agregaron recursos y procedimientos que pasaron de unir palabra e imagen a incorporar objetos, acciones, sonidos, videos y el uso de las nuevas tecnologías digitales. Por otro lado, los estudios registran el origen del arte sonoro como un hecho reciente. En este trabajo se relacionan estas prácticas y se toma a la incorporación del sonido en la poesía visual como un antecedente del arte sonoro, como parte de un proceso de hibridación, propio del arte contemporáneo, que comprende a ambos.
