Sumario:The article presents progress and projections of the project “Preventive conservation and regional cultural development: enhancement of the Museum of the City, Villa Dolores, Córdoba, Argentina” currently under development within the framework of the Master's Degree in Conservation of Cultural Assets, National University of Córdoba and who was benefited from a Master's Initiation scholarship granted by the Ministry of Science and Technology (2021). The Municipally-managed City Museum, located in the town of Villa Dolores, contains an extensive exhibition of archaeological, biological, geological, paleontological, historical, artistic, textile, property, and machinery pieces. Currently, these cultural assets are in danger due to multiple factors, including the constant absence of conservation and dissemination actions. From preventive conservation guidelines, the design of strategies that allow mitigating the material deterioration of the pieces is proposed, as well as proposals for the creation of a reserve area and the implementation of new exhibition criteria for the collections. Together with the actions to safeguard tangible heritage, it is proposed to review its intangible values in a community way, making the heritage visible from cultural policies that question the heritage object in an artistic key.
