The Municipally-managed City Museum, located in the town of Villa Dolores, contains an extensive exhibition of archaeological, biological, geological, paleontological, historical, artistic, textile, property, and machinery pieces. Currently, these cultural assets are in danger due to multiple factors, including the constant absence of conservation and dissemination actions. From preventive conservation guidelines, the design of strategies that allow mitigating the material deterioration of the pieces is proposed, as well as proposals for the creation of a reserve area and the implementation of new exhibition criteria for the collections. Together with the actions to safeguard tangible heritage, it is proposed to review its intangible values in a community way, making the heritage visible from cultural policies that question the heritage object in an artistic key. El artículo presenta avances y proyecciones del proyecto “Conservación preventiva y desarrollo cultural regional: puesta en valor del Museo de la Ciudad, Villa Dolores, Córdoba, Argentina” actualmente en desarrollo en el marco de la Maestría en Conservación de Bienes Culturales de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba y beneficiario de una beca de Iniciación de Maestría otorgada por la Secretaría de Ciencia y Tecnología en la convocatoria del año 2021. El Museo de la Ciudad, de gestión municipal, ubicado en la localidad de Villa Dolores, contiene una extensa exhibición de piezas arqueológicas, biológicas, geológicas, paleontológicas, históricas, artísticas, textiles, bienes de uso y maquinarias. En la actualidad, estos bienes culturales peligran por múltiples factores, entre ellos, la ausencia constante de acciones de conservación y difusión. Desde lineamientos de conservación preventiva, se propone el diseño de estrategias que permitan mitigar el deterioro material de las piezas, así como propuestas para la creación de un área de reserva y la implementación de nuevos criterios de exhibición para las colecciones. Junto con las acciones de salvaguarda del patrimonio tangible, se propone revisar sus valores intangibles de forma comunitaria, visibilizando el acervo desde políticas culturales que interpelen el objeto patrimonial en clave artística.
