This research is referred to life, artist career and compositions of Inés Gómez Carrillo (Santiago del Estero, 1918-Ciudad Autónomade Buenos Aires, 2014) boarding this problem: the performer and composer trajectory, with original and important contributions tothe piano, had not, however, correlative and proportional register, diffusion and recognition neither in Argentina instrument teaching nor in its performer repertories. Conclusions of this study show how her family life was a decisive issue in her artistic career. Very encouraged from childhood for an exceptionally musical and cultural environment, she composed in her first period andreach an international pianist career. She had eminent piano and composition teachers in our country and in the United States,she won prizes in many opportunities becoming as one of the most required pianists by well known conductors, playing in America, Europe, and later Asia most important halls. Each of her presentations then deserved the best comments by specialized review. Since 1952 her new family life determined her career will start to decay. Her definitive return to Argentina in 1969 implied the beginning of her work as a teacher and just occasionally as a concert player.
For all the exposed, we will try to demonstrate that the author and performer was improperly omitted in numerous studies referringto musical life from the 40s and 50s (even in the female presence in the national cultural press) being that Inés Gómez Carrillo was one of the most important pianists of her generation. |

El presente trabajo se aproxima a la vida, la carrera artística y la obra compositiva de la pianista Inés Gómez Carrillo (Santiago del Estero, 1918-Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, 2014) con el objetivo de abordar la siguiente problemática: la trayectoria de la intérprete y autora, con originales e importantes aportes a la pianística, no ha tenido, sin embargo, correlato proporcional en el registro, la difusión y el reconocimiento en la enseñanza del instrumento ni en los repertorios de intérpretes en nuestro país. Las conclusiones de este estudio revelan cómo su vida familiar fue un factor decisivo en su carrera de artista. Muy incentivada desde niña por un ambiente musical y cultural de excepción, incursionó en la composición en su primera etapa y alcanzó una carrera pianística que trascendió los límites nacionales. Habiendo estudiado con eximios maestros de piano y de composición en nuestro país y en Estados Unidos, fue galardonada en numerosas oportunidades y logró posicionarse como una de las pianistas más requeridas por célebres directores de orquesta, actuando en los escenarios más prestigiosos de América y Europa, y más tarde en Asia. Cada una de sus presentaciones inspiró entonces los más encumbrados juicios de la crítica especializada. A partir de 1952 su nueva vida familiar determinó que su carrera comenzara a decaer. Su regreso definitivo a Argentina en 1969 implicó el inicio de su labor como docente y solo ocasionalmente como concertista. Por todo lo expuesto se intentará demostrar que la autora e intérprete fue inadecuadamente omitida en numerosos estudios referidos a la vida musical de los años cuarenta y cincuenta (e inclusive en la presencia femenina en la prensa cultural nacional) a pesar de que Inés Gómez Carrillo ha sido una de las pianistas más importantes de su generación.
