Sumario:In this article, we propose to reflect on disputed social representations that we can find in contemporary Argentine “visual culture” with respect to a prototypical scene of marginality such as prison. We propose to carry out an analysis and comparison from the productions of meaning generated by two contemporary audiovisual products with great differences in their modes and conditions of production, such as the series El Marginal and a community short film promoted by the Cine en Movimiento collective called Entre dos caminos.
