We propose to carry out an analysis and comparison from the productions of meaning generated by two contemporary audiovisual products with great differences in their modes and conditions of production, such as the series El Marginal and a community short film promoted by the Cine en Movimiento collective called Entre dos caminos. En el presente artículo, nos proponemos reflexionar sobre representaciones sociales en disputa que podemos encontrar en la “cultura visual” argentina contemporánea respecto a un escenario prototípico de la marginalidad como es la cárcel.
