| Sumario: | The juxtaposition of various objects-fragments, paintings, artifacts of daily use and other objects from the everyday world make up the "here and now" of this artistic installation “Eastern reminiscences”. Born out of a personal interest in Japanese art and an appropriation of it, the montage seeks to make the decorative part of the current register of contemporary art. In certain spaces of the local academic environment, the ornamental as an aesthetic issue seems to lack substantiation and support. It is for this reason that, through a process of decontextualization and re-contextualization of Eastern floral motifs in the pictorial and objectual installation, the ultimate aim of this production is to point out this problematic and analyze the possibilities of Decorative Arts in the contemporary context. |
