Born out of a personal interest in Japanese art and an appropriation of it, the montage seeks to make the decorative part of the current register of contemporary art. In certain spaces of the local academic environment, the ornamental as an aesthetic issue seems to lack substantiation and support. It is for this reason that, through a process of decontextualization and re-contextualization of Eastern floral motifs in the pictorial and objectual installation, the ultimate aim of this production is to point out this problematic and analyze the possibilities of Decorative Arts in the contemporary context. La yuxtaposición de diversos fragmentos, pinturas y cosas del mundo cotidiano, configuran el “aquí y ahora” de una instalación artística “Reminiscencias orientales” que, nacida de un interés personal en el arte japonés y sus apropiaciones, busca visibilizar lo decorativo como parte de un registro actual de lo sensible. Lo ornamental como problema estético parece carecer de sustento en el ámbito académico local por lo que, mediante un proceso de descontextualización y re-contextualización de motivos florales orientales en la producción pictórica y objetual instalada, se propone “señalar” esta situación y analizar las posibilidades de lo decorativo en el contexto contemporáneo.
