The form of data acquisition is marked by "social media" with great audiovisual content of images and videos, which they transform into data for analysis and conversion to information. These changes imply modifications in the didactic tools when providing education to a generation that presents digital identity, as an essential part of their development. Active participation with the creation of content motivates learning and from the Food Biotechnology curricular space of the Bachelor of Agrifoods, the creation of a digital photographic contest was proposed as a teaching tool of practical activity. As a result, the group of students got involved extending beyond what was requested by providing new techniques, new materials and categories of participation in the contest, which allowed a two-way communication of teaching between the teacher and the group and horizontal interactions between the same group. Resumen La disrupción de la masificación de internet y la tecnología de la información (TIC), han llevado a la creación de generaciones denominadas “digitales”, entre las que se pueden encontrar a la millennial (Y de 21 a 41 años), centennial (Z de 10 a 20 años) y alpha (hasta los 9 años) los cuales adoptaron o nacieron como nativos digitales. La forma de adquisición de datos esta signada por la “social media” con gran contenido audiovisual de imágenes y videos, lo que transforman en datos para su análisis y conversión a información. Estos cambios implican modificaciones en las herramientas didácticas a la hora de brindar educación a una generación que presenta identidad digital, como parte esencial de su desarrollo. La participación activa con creación de contenido motiva el aprendizaje y desde el espacio curricular de Biotecnología de los Alimentos de la Licenciatura en Agroalimentos, se propuso la creación de un concurso fotográfico digital como herramienta de enseñanza (actividad práctica). Como resultado el grupo de estudiantes se involucró extendiendo más allá de lo solicitado, aportando nuevas técnicas, materiales de partidas y categorías de participación del concurso. Esta actividad permitió una comunicación bidireccional de la enseñanza entre el docente y el grupo, y también se generó interacciones horizontales entre los alumnos del grupo.  Faculta de Ciencias Agropecuarias.
