It focuses on TomásJofré, a prominent proceduralist in civil and criminal matters. It addresses unknown aspects of hiswork in the Buenos Aires legislature that went beyond promoting changes in procedural legislationto make justice more efficient, such as giving impetus to judicial statistics. Going deeper into thefoundations under which the reform building was conceived by its main reference at the beginningof the 20th century allows to delve into the bases on which the judicial policy of its time rested. El presente artículo procura contribuir al conocimiento acerca de la participación que tuvieronalgunos juristas en las políticas de Estado referidas al diseño del sistema judicial en la Argentina.Se detiene en particular en Tomás Jofré, destacado procesalista en materia civil y penal. Abordaaspectos desconocidos de su labor en la legislatura bonaerense que fueron más allá de promovercambios en la legislación procesal para dotar de eficacia la administración de justicia, como lo fuedar ímpetu a la estadística judicial. Ahondar en los cimientos bajo los que concibió el edificio dereforma su principal referente a inicios del siglo XX permite profundizar acerca de las bases sobrelas que descansaba la política judicial de su tiempo.
