In Argentina, all the immigrants´ communities whose nations were at war took part in the home front. Local magazines covered in detail the diverse activities and events that these communities organized, documenting the initial patriotic fervor. In addition, as the years go by, their pages exhibited the despair and adversity that the combat generated both abroad and in Argentina in particular, by making visible the dramas of the families left alone, without the male breadwinner or confronting, in one way or another, the high costs of the warfare.
