| Sumario: | This article studies the Vicente Pazos' incidence in the creation of the political press from the Río de la Plata. With this purpose on mind, we will focus on La Crónica Argentina, a newspaper that begins to be printed on August 30 1816. The guidelines of this newspaper constantly tends towards polemicization mainly with El Censor, directed by Antonio Valdés, and Gazeta de Buenos Ayres, directed by Julián Álvarez. Its publication is interrupted in February 1817 when its editor is sent back into exile.Understanding the periodical press as another political actor in the revolution of Independence and with the aim of achieving a greater comprehension of the newspaper La Crónica Argentina, in this paper we will seek to deepen the analysis of the reflections publicated by the editor, while studying the material aspects that underlaid its publication. |
