It includes, firstly, a reference of the policies that were taken on during the first half of the 19th century; secondly, it describes the changes produced in the 50 decade: in the begging with the revision of the preceding legislation because ofpolitical motifs, and then, with the establishment of the renting system which worked with a transitory character; and lastly, the acceleration of the transference of lands to private hand through the sale laws. El propósito de este trabajo es explicar el proceso de transferencia de las tierras públicas en la provincia de Buenos Aires que se inicia en 1852, a partir de la caída del gobernador Rosas. Incluye en primer lugar, una referencia a las políticas llevadas adelante en la primera mitad del siglo XIX, en segundo lugar se desarrollan los cambios que se producen en la década del 50, primero con la revisión de la legislación anterior por motivos de índole política, luego con el establecimiento del sistema de arriendo que funcionó con carácter transitorio, y por último, la aceleración de la transferencia de la tierra a manos privadas a través de las leyes de ventas.
