I10-R307-article-233102021-06-01T21:55:16Z Brazil and Argentina: borders and commercial circuits in El Plata (19th and 20th centuries) Brasil y Argentina: fronteras y circuitos comerciales en el Plata (siglos XIX y XX) Zanotti de Medrano, Lilia Inés The aim ofthis work is to contribute to a better understanding of the economical importance that the Plate basin represented to the regional interests in the XIX and part of the XX centuries, and mainly to analyse the role these rivers played in the structure of the fluvial trade between Brazil and Argentina. It also observes, due to the economical utilization of the rivers, how a socio-economic-cultural space is created, called the river Plate region and having as its main characters Argentina and Brazil. The work makes reference to the historical unity of this interior space when considering the common interests in sharing -in the middle of the XIX century- the benefits of the "new times" that could be felt in the river Plate region.
