That debate concealed other key aspect of that paper- Germani's explanation of the meaning of Peronism. This paper offers a re-examination of Germani's views on this issue in order to single out the factors accounting for another enigma related to Peronism -its survival. Un artículo de Gino Germani, "La integración de las masas a la vida política y el totalitarismo", publicado en 1956, desató un debate acerca de los orígenes del peronismo. Ese debate ocultó otro aspecto clave de ese artículo: la explicación de Germani del significado del peronismo.
