The present book focuses on the main aspects of the documental and writing practice, such as the notary of the "Cabildo, the main responsible for the writing process and for the Notary Office; the different types of documents resulted of the institutional dynamic; and the different kinds of organization, conservation and appropriation of the documents. It is also analyzed the few laws regarding the writing process and the documental production of the "Cabildo" and its observance. El presente trabajo intenta reconstruir los aspectos más importantes del uso de la escritura por parte del Cabildo de Córdoba, Provincia del Tucumán, Juries y Diaguitas, perteneciente al Virreinato del Perú, durante el siglo XVI. Se analizan los principales aspectos relacionados con la práctica escritorial y documental de la institución, tales como la figura del Escribano de Cabildo, principal protagonista del proceso escritorialy responsable de la cancillería capitular; los tipos documentales surgidos de la dinámica institucional; y los modos de organización, conservación y apropiación de los mismos. También son tema de análisis las escasas leyes que reglamentaban el accionar del Cabildo en relación a la documentación de sus actos de gobierno y el cumplimiento de las mismas.
