El artículo analiza el desarrollo y la evolución de las historiografías provinciales entre 1900 y 1930. Privilegia, en este contexto, el análisis de la forma en la que un conjunto de historiadores de diferentes provincias se posicionaron frente la producción historiográfica porteña y la interpretación que llevaron a cabo de un variado conjunto de temas como la conquista, el proceso de la independencia, los conflictos entre Buenos Aires y las provincias, el origen del caudillismo y de los líderes locales y la época de Rosas.
