However, it is possible to raise the existence of some common characteristics. The occupation of thepatagonicterritory was strongly conditioned in its beginnings by the development of an extensive cattle operation with ovine predominance, that was deriving -in narrow relation with the policies from distribution and appropriation of land- in theconformationof few establishments with great extensions and low population density, that will coexist with an important number of small and medium ones. That process was not free of conflicts, even though such they acquire greater visibility at the moment in which the demands of the regional society, within the framework of the economic postwar crisis and financial international crisis of years 1929/30, they impel the sprouting of corporative instances oforganization that allow them to articulate spaces of negotiation with the national State. La Patagonia presenta importantes diferencias fisiográficas entre las áreas andinas, de meseta y costeras, que fueron objeto de distintas formas de poblamiento y puesta en producción. No obstante, es posible plantear la existencia de algunos rasgos comunes. La ocupación del territorio patagónico estuvo fuertemente condicionada en sus inicios por el desarrollo de una explotación ganadera extensiva con predominancia ovina, que fue derivando - en estrecha relación con las políticas de distribución y apropiación de las tierras en la conformación de unos pocos establecimientos de grandes extensiones y baja densidad de población, que convivirían con un importante número de explotaciones pequeñas y medianas. Ese proceso no estuvo exento de conflictos, aun cuando los mismos adquieren mayor visibilidad en el momento en que las demandas de la sociedad regional, en el marco de la crisis económica de posguerra y de la crisis financiera internacional de los años 1929/30, impulsan el surgimiento de instancias de organización corporativas que les permitan articular espacios de negociación con el Estado nacional.
