We will explore the social, economic, and political relationships that made him one of the most wealthy and powerful oidor in the nascent Peruvian Viceroyalty. His insightful ties, along with his kinship ties, positioned him among the outstanding elite of Lima. The study of his personal life and relationships will allow us to better understand how the post of oidor in Spanish America was used to establish new lineages, commercial interests, promote patrimonial enhancement and social advancement. |
