The movement we intend to characterize is gestated at the imminent mining unique mountain range, in the province of La Rioja, with its snowy peaks throughout the year and supplies water to one of the most important productive regions as it is Bermejo Valley. The wealth of minerals that possesses this mountain system have been desired since the founding of the province. In the last years the multinationals have advanced exploitation through agreements that do not consider will of the people as the basis of public policy to be execute. In 2011 the province signed an agreement that legitimized open pit mining operation. The aim is analyze, through documentary and testimonial sources, how organized citizens manage to keep out labor gangs, mega-mining Canadian companies are moving up and sustain a cut permanent camp in the area that was intended to explore and exploit. Los movimientos sociales tienen en su génesis diferentes circunstancias que los conforman. El movimiento que pretendemos caracterizar se gesta ante la inminente explotación minera del único sistema montañoso de la provincia de La Rioja, que cuenta con sus cumbres nevadas durante todo el año y abastece de agua a una de las regiones productivas más relevantes como lo es el Valle del Bermejo. Las riquezas de minerales que posee este sistema montañoso han sido un bien codiciado desde la fundación de la provincia. En estos últimos años las multinacionales han avanzado mediante convenios de explotación que no consideran la voluntad popular como base de las políticas públicas que se han de ejecutar. En 2011 la provincia firmó un convenio que legitimaba la explotación minera a cielo abierto. Se pretende analizar, mediante fuentes documentales y testimoniales, el modo en que los ciudadanos organizados logran impedir el ingreso de las cuadrillas de trabajo de las empresas megamineras canadienses, se constituyen en movimiento y sostienen un corte con acampe permanente en la zona que se pretendía explorar y explotar.
