This title included daily comics in the magazine Misterix, full graphic novels in Super Misterix and adaptations in the format of novels published by Editorial Frontera. Promoted as “the scientific comic” and of wide success in sales in the midst of the golden age of argentinian comic books, this source material offers a privileged opportunity to study the construction and circulation of ideas, motives and popular images regarding the advances, discussions, myths and “mysteries” of science and technology in mid twentieth century Argentina. The academic background of Oesterheld, as well as his experience in scientific popularization, enabled him to successfully join these instances of the social imagery with the logics of the entertainment industry.
