In this regard, we believe it is possible to establish a more or less common storyline between these three authors, where although they emphasize particular elements and specific constructs regarding the language used, the forms of action and the presentation of these actors of evil, however already observed tendency to standardize its approach with respect to these issues. El presente artículo se propone, tomando en cuenta las obras de autores destacados como Agustín de Hipona, Gregorio Magno e Isidoro de Sevilla, presentar una caracterización histórica de la imagen y función atribuidas al diablo y los demonios en la Alta Edad Media previa a las fijaciones dogmáticas propias del siglo XIII. En tal sentido, creemos que es posible establecer una línea argumental más o menos común entre estos tres autores, donde si bien cada uno enfatiza elementos particulares y construcciones específicas respecto al lenguaje utilizado, las formas de acción y la presentación de estos actores del mal, sin embargo se observa ya cierta tendencia a estandarizar las consideraciones referidas a estas temáticas.
