The proliferation of fiscal exemptions in the Castilian councils in the low Middle Ages generates many conflicts between the taxpayers from the communities, the urban elites and the monarchy. The dynamic of the negotiation and the process of dispute are keys elements in order to understand the contents and the continuity of the exempt condition in the late Middle Ages.
