This resource was exploited by the natives of the place, then did the settlers in the nineteenth century, Sinaloa fishermen who obtained concessions for exploitation. It was during the post revolutionary governments in Mexico when the exclusivity for the exploitation of marine species such as shrimp was granted, so fishermen had to be grouped in such societies, in order to exploit the marine resources along the Mexican Pacific. Therefore the aim of this study is to analyze the origin and development of fishing cooperatives Southern Sinaloa during the period from the establishment of the first cooperative until 1981.
