For over two decades, this arquitect was also in charge of the Direction of Parks and Turism of Buenos Aires. Thays planned the creation of the Iguazú National Park, which came to reality in 1934 a few months later the mayor gardener passed away. He gave birth to this idea to protect the subtropical jungle of Misiones, as well as developing this area in economical, social and cultural aspects and securing an image of beauty from panoramic views. His proyect strengthens national sovereignty in the limits of the country along with the generation of hidraulic energy. Likewise turism is furnished conjointly with population settlement distributed in a radial design. In this work, we propose the investigation of how Thays consolidated the representation of nation through the protection of natural assets, mainly with the Iguazú National Park.
