| Sumario: | The letters, privileged space of personal expression, are constituted in this article, at the same time, in the object of study and in the main source for studying, through a historiographic approach, the figure of the historian David Peña (1862-1930). The objective is to try to establish connections between the public speeches of an author and the private texts preserved in his epistolary, to determine the themes and motives that articulate this one, and to contribute to the reconstruction of the argentine intellectual sociability of ends of nineteenth and early twentieth century. |
