description The main purpose of this study is to understand the impact of the international health cooperation model on the approach to epizootic diseases, with emphasis on Venezuela during the mid-twentieth century period. The decadebeginning in 1950 marks a new stage in international relations, where (techno)science would support the development ofthe first world in competition with the so–called second world, leaving the third world in a clear position of disadvantagein the field of asymmetric relations, such as it is manifested in the fragile techno-economic base and in the limited spacesfor decision-making that are available within the institutional schemes of power at the multilateral level - under thedomination of the powers that win the contest. The presentation of the topic will be divided into two parts: in the first wewill make a succinct description of the context, in which we will emphasize the field of tropical medicine; in the secondpart, we will address the issue of epizootics diseases in Venezuela, in the framework of environmental health. In thisframework, we consider it essential to carry out researches that include the topic of epizootics as part of the history ofpublic health and international cooperation, in order to make more inclusive analyses and thus avoid fragmented visionsin the study of health and international relations. Regarding the materials used here, first-hand sources related to sanitarymeasures were consulted, which are in the historical archive of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.
