I try to synthetically present the most lucid contributions and try to outline the reading keys to understand a fundamental work about the Russian actuality from a historical and cultural point of view. The Russian revolution and the consequent emergence of the Soviet Union sustained for decades an alternative political model against the prevailing capitalism in the rest of the planet, for which the end of this project left in its wake long debates and unresolved issues.
