Sumario:This article first addresses the transnational processes that have emerged in recent decades, as a characteristicnote of globalization. In this context, the performance of the International Federation of Associated Football (FIFA) as an international actor that has acquired great influence on the global board will be analyzed. In particular, the actions that this international sports organization has developed in Latin America will be taken into account, as the axis in the organization of the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup, the last major competition of the entity played in Latin American.
