In this context, the performance of the International Federation of Associated Football (FIFA) as an international actor that has acquired great influence on the global board will be analyzed. In particular, the actions that this international sports organization has developed in Latin America will be taken into account, as the axis in the organization of the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup, the last major competition of the entity played in Latin American. Este artículo aborda en primer lugar los procesos transnacionales que han emergido en las últimas décadas, como una nota característica de la globalización. En ese contexto, se analiza la actuación de la Federación Internacional de Fútbol Asociado (FIFA) como un actor internacional que ha adquirido gran influencia en el tablero global. En particular, se toman en cuenta las acciones que esta organización deportiva internacional ha desarrollado en el ámbito de Latinoamérica, haciendo eje en la organización de la Copa Mundial de la FIFA Brasil 2014, la última gran competencia de la entidad disputada en suelo latinoamericano.
