It belongs to the Structural Design Research Workshop (TIDE) of the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design.The research was aimed at determining sustainable design strategies for the definition of a structural mechanism at the beginning of the design process of a work of architecture considering the resources and technologies available at that time and when intervention is required. The focus was mainly on the need to provide the architectural object with a capacity for permanent transformation so that they are usable beyond the designed useful life and especially when future interventions are extreme such as interior emptying.Cases and authors with intervened works were studied, determining the degree of sustainability of the tasks required for this and the role of the structure, its conservation and materiality in said measurement, drawing conclusions that are transferable, from the beginning of the project process, as criteria of sustainable structural design.Finally, all the criteria defined in a final project for the FAUD architecture degree, UNC, in the VIC Architecture chair, were applied. The project consists of the design of the “Despenaderos Technical Institute” responding to the socioeconomic and cultural needs of the region.Personally, I consider that this work provides an innovative proposal for a sustainable architectural design, highlighting the fundamental role of its structure for this.

El presente trabajo se desarrolla para la convocatoria EVC CIN 2021[1] en el marco del proyecto Formar: “Regularidad estructural como recurso para un diseño sostenible”, dirigido por la Esp. Ing. Silvina Prados, acreditado y evaluado por la Secretaría de Ciencia y Técnica de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. El mismo pertenece al Taller de Investigación de Diseño Estructural (TIDE) de la Facultad de Arquitectura, Urbanismo y Diseño. La investigación estuvo dirigida a determinar estrategias de diseño sostenible para la definición de un mecanismo estructural en el inicio del proceso proyectual de una obra de arquitectura considerando los recursos y tecnologías disponibles en ese momento y al momento de requerirse intervenirlas. Se hizo foco principalmente en la necesidad de dotar al objeto de arquitectura de una capacidad de transformación permanente para que sean usables más allá de la vida útil diseñada y sobre todo cuando las intervenciones futuras sean extremas como las de vaciado interior. Se estudiaron casos y autores con obras intervenidas, determinando el grado de sostenibilidad de las tareas requeridas para ello y el rol de la estructura, su conservación y materialidad en dicha medición, extrayendo conclusiones que sean transferibles, desde el inicio del proceso proyectual, como criterios de diseño estructural sostenibles. Finalmente se aplicaron todos los criterios definidos en un trabajo final para la carrera de arquitectura FAUD, UNC, en la cátedra de Arquitectura VIC. El proyecto consiste en el diseño del “Instituto Técnico Despeñaderos” respondiendo a las necesidades socioeconómicas y culturales de la región.
