It finds its specific motivation in a particular teaching function, carried out in the subject Lingüística Contrastiva y Teoría de la Traducción (LCyTT), of the university degrees Profesorado y Licenciatura en Español Lengua Materna y Lengua Extranjera, at the Facultad de Lenguas, UNC. The ultimate goal of LCyTT is to deepen students' existing knowledge of Spanish by highlighting some of the ways in which this language contrasts with other languages. In this way, translation emerges as a fertile ground to focus on divergences not only linguistic but, above all, cultural, and the category of equivalence appears on different occasions to give rise to a careful reflection on its definition. In this text, then, a succinct review of translatological models is made that allow us to approach this notion in classes in which, as in LCyTT, translatology is intertwined with linguistics and, at the same time, contrastive linguistics. Finally, some future paths are outlined in which, to the present reflection, fruitful cognitivist considerations may be added.
