To do so, we will revisit some studies about the author and her work in order to present a commented reading of the argument of the analyzed short story and also a critical reading of its translation, highlighting elements that, in our point of view, contribute to the reception of Silvina Ocampo's work in Brazil. Apoiadas nas considerações feitas por Françoise Massardier-Kenney em seu célebre estudo Caminhos para uma redefinição da prática feminista da tradução (2022), pretendemos discutir no presente artigo de que modo a recuperação da obra de Silvina Ocampo, especialmente do seu conto El vestido de terciopelo/O vestido de veludo (1959/2019), contribui para uma leitura feminista da sua produção literária e de sua respectiva tradução ao português brasileiro. Para isso, revisitaremos alguns estudos feitos sobre a autora e sua obra de modo a apresentar uma leitura comentada do argumento do conto analisado e também uma leitura crítica da sua tradução, destacando elementos que, a nosso ver, contribuem para a recepção da obra de Silvina Ocampo no Brasil.
