Sumario:This work is part of the translation practice of Mariquita Sánchez's letters as part of the doctoral research for a doctorate in Translation Studies at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. The research aims to compile Mariquita Sánchez’s letters and translate them into Brazilian Portuguese. As a thematic approach for this work, we propose to present six excerpts from the translations made, explaining the use of certain translation procedures, focusing on the dynamic equivalence strategy proposed by Nida and Taber (1986), going through Lefevere's rewriting theory (1992) and the invisibility theory proposed by Venuti (1995). We believe this research will spark interesting in translations of the epistolary genre, especially those focusing on past centuries and the writing of Hispanic American women, who had no right to a voice, always oppressed by a patriarchal society.
