Sumario:The organization of scientific meetings, the creation of research centres and the inclusion of theory to the undergraduate translation training programs are evidence of the state of the art of Translation Studies (TS) and its progress in the last two decades in Argentina. However, in order to consolidate its institutional academic status, more TS journals and publications, and a greater number or research-oriented graduate programs are needed. Data presented in this article was collected in the research project «Translator and Interpreter Training in Argentina» (04/J025) and at the Centre for Translation Studies, at the National University of Comahue.
