In Argentina, the reception of his work is marked by his relation with the market, by the translations, by the recognition of the Academy and also by the national and foreign journalistic criticism. Thus, this work analyzes the reception of the figure of Houellebecq in the Argentine written press, in particular in the newspaper Clarín (clarín.com and Revista Ñ). We search the articles on this French writer to create a corpus divided into two groups: the texts published in the 2000s that present a new book or resume the debates of the French press and the many articles that appeared after 2010, when Houellebecq won the Goncourt. So, this work of observation, analysis and reflection makes it possible to show that the grand prize has caused a turning point in the journalistic publications on this author, among other interpretive conclusions that we share.
