These include a brief introduction to the types of Chaco commonly found in academic writing about the conquest and colonization of the Americas, as well as specific recommendations on how to assemble and care for the proposed Chaco. The goal, far from being establishing the object of study once and for all, tries to be an ironic reflection upon the steps that lead to its construction. Towards the end, we present a pocket-edition summary. Lo que sigue son una serie de instrucciones o consejos útiles para el armado de un Chaco, confeccionadas a partir de la experiencia académica personal e informadas por lecturas y discusiones teóricas. Las mismas incluyen una breve introducción a los tipos de Chaco que se encuentran comúnmente en la producción académica sobre la conquista y la colonización de América, tanto como recomendaciones específicas para el armado y manutención del Chaco que se propone. La meta, lejos de definir de una vez por todas el objeto, pretende una reflexión irónica sobre los pasos que conducen a su construcción. Hacia el final, se presenta un pequeño resumen para el bolsillo de la dama y la cartera del caballero.
