After a synthesis about colonial practices in Egypt from the 18th century to the present day, we aim to analyse a possible “line of flight” to colonial thought appealing to inquire about other relationships with nature. Proponemos aquí una reflexión acerca de por qué el Sur en el Egipto faraónico y cómo un proyecto conjunto entre la UFMG (Brasil) y la UNC (Argentina), radicado en la necrópolis tebana de Lúxor, puede aportar a agendas de investigación que pretenden alinearse en los debates actuales sobre arqueología y colonialidad. Luego de un recorrido por diversas prácticas coloniales en Egipto desde el siglo XVIII hasta nuestros días, nos proponemos explorar una posible línea de fuga al pensamiento colonial, apelando a indagar sobre otras relaciones con la naturaleza.
