We love this painting by Turner (p. 5), Snow Storm: Steam-Boat off a Harbour's Mouth, because it expresses that feeling of anguish we experience when facing this task, similar to that of a painter before a blank canvas. This painting depicts a ship in a storm where visibility is nearly impossible. The possibility of all the paths opening up before us presents itself as a distressing chaos. It is as if we were facing a storm that prevents us from seeing the path we must walk. What to write about? How to do it? Since we have all felt this sorrow at some point, the purpose of this text is to offer some tools that allow us to face the task of scientific writing. Cuando tenemos que escribir por primera vez -ya sea para la elaboración de un artículo científico, de una tesis o tesina o, incluso, de un proyecto de investigación la tarea se nos presenta como casi imposible. Nos encanta este cuadro de Turner (pág. 5) Barco de vapor frente a la boca de un puerto en una tormenta de nieve porque expresa esa sensación de angustia que sentimos cuando estamos frente a esa tarea, semejante a la de un pintor frente al lienzo en blanco. Esta pintura representa un barco en una tormenta donde la visibilidad es casi imposible. La posibilidad de todos los senderos que se abren ante nosotros se nos ofrece como un caos angustiante. Como si estuviésemos frente a una tormenta que nos impide ver el camino por donde debemos andar. ¿Sobre qué escribir? ¿Cómo hacerlo? Como todos alguna vez hemos sentido este pesar, el propósito de este texto consiste en poder ofrecer algunas herramientas que nos permitan afrontar la tarea de escribir científicamente.
